So am I missing something here or what? I found this amazing crochet pattern and I just really don’t get it. Please tell me what I am missing…

So In the link above it gives the tutorial step by step but somewhere after the third picture I am SOOOO lost. Please! Someone help me! Its such an amazing beautiful way of crocheting but i just can’t seem to figure it out. I even read the PDF version and NOPE just not getting it. =(

Sensitivity is a symptom of pride…Not sure I really agree with people who have dealt with past hurts taking it out on others by being so sensitive/ easily offended/ or touchy… As much as I love people I am taken back when people respond with offense to any little comment. What is your take….especially when it comes to racial matters? I understand people may have been done wrong in the past, but why am I personally to walk on eggshells for something I personally didn’t do? For example: As I waited for a parent of a student, one parent arrived for her daughter. I had the misfortune of mistaking which parent it was and the automatic response was attitude. She made it clear that she was another’s mother and there was ANOTHER family of the same color. Now, it was not at all what I meant…I was just being nice enough to wait with that student so she wasn’t charged $ for staying extra time at school. I had to seriously go out of my way to awkwardly explain what I meant or my intention. Had it been a person of any other race, I don’t believe I would have been meet with such animosity. =( Not at all my intention, It is my first year working there Full time and I have yet to meet ALL the parents in school.

What I don’t understand is why is there such a high sense of entitlement when we are a country with a huge variety of race. We have all endured our hardships and so have our ancestors. We should be peacemakers, especially those of us who have a personal relationship with the epitome of LOVE—God.

Proverbs 14:17 says:

A quick-tempered person does foolish things,
and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.

and

Matthew 5:9
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.

How many times has this happened to you? You just start thinking about all the things wrong and how many things need to get done…so on and so forth. It’s amazing how busy our minds can get while lying in bed…so much so that we can not rest our body. Then we get hit with the realization “Dude, you’re lying in bed about to go to sleep, what in the world are you going to do about it right now? Are you going to jump out of bed and get back to work on everyday issues that can wait until tomorrow?” Although i have never been an alcoholic I like the AA’s Serenity Prayer:

God, grant me the Serenity

to accept the things I cannot change,

courage to change the things I can,

and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time,

enjoying one moment at a time,

accepting hardship as the

pathway to Peace.

Taking, as He did, this sinful world

As it is, not as I would have it;

Trusting that He will make all things

right if I surrender to His will;

That I may be reasonably happy

in this life, and supremely happy

with Him in the next.

Amen.

Why oh why can’t I get everything I need to do—DONE? Well because I just can’t find the time. =(

And it’s not so much that I don’t have enough time but that I’m SO tired and have to hit the hay so early!

Well I guess it doesn’t help having a new baby in the house either…not that I mind <3 She is AMAZING! She is worth every single moment of tiredness I’ve ever felt. I wouldn’t trade her for the world! =)

Letting Go

So I’ve had my eyes opened more to God’s love these past few months. Isn’t it amazing how God loves us SO UNCONDITIONALLY? I am in awe.

We as humans can be so quick to hold a grudge and so slow to let them go. I’ve had my share of let-downs, but in the end I realize- what good does it do me to hold on to that mess? SO many people hold on to things that only hurt themselves…the person that has done them wrong is long gone, living their own lives…probably even guilt free because they might not even remember or have put away what they have done (maybe even asked God for forgiveness) and yet we choose to still suffer from that moment or moments we were hurt. Like continually picking at a scab and never allowing it to heal.

God wants to heal us, help us…but he can’t do so if we constantly pick at those past hurts. God wants us to hand over our junk to him so we can be free…

There’s something I’ve learned and It’s been such an amazing gift from God……Letting GO!

Over the years it’s been easier and easier… you can choose to be a bowl or a strainer…. either holding everything (good and bad) or allowing all the bad to be strained out and learning from your circumstance and retaining the good.

Make your choice today. God wants to protect you from anymore pain! He wants you to be able to dance in the rain knowing God is your umbrella protecting you from harm. Knowing he is your just judge and will bring Justice where it’s due. Knowing that everyone is ultimately in need of HIM—yes even your wrong-doer. Learning to be sympathetic in every situation! Let Go! Release yourself in every instance and give everything up to your Father in heaven who truly loves YOU!!!!!

I saw this somewhere and I don’t know where it’s from or who it’s from but I needed to post it. It was too funny, only I wanted to edit it a bit.

1.There’s nothing worse than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.

2. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to take a nap when I was a kid.

3. There is a great need for a sarcasm font.

4.HOW in the world do you fold a fitted sheet!??

5. Was learning cursive really necessary?

6. Mapquest needs to start their directions on #5 I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my own neighborhood.

7. Can we all agree to just ignore whatever comes after blue-ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection….again.

8. I am always slightly terrified when I exit out of word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten page technical report that I swear I didn’t make any changes to.

9. I hate it when I miss a call by the last ring (Hello…Hello? Aw man!) But when I immediately call back it rings 9 times and goes to voicemail. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?

10. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone I know the whole day. What a waste.

11. I think the freezer deserves a light too.

12. I wish google maps had an “Avoid Ghetto” routing option.

13. Sometimes I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and then realize I had no Idea what in the world was going on when I first saw it.

14. I would rather try to carry 10 overloaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

15. How many times is it appropriate to say “What?” before you just nod and smile because you still didn’t hear or understand what they were saying?

16. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

17. There’s no worse feeling than that millisecond you’re sure you are going to die after leaning your chair a little too far back.

18. As a driver I hate pedestrians, as a pedestrian I hate drivers. but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclist .

19. Sometimes I look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still don’t know what time it is

20. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and even pinning a tail on a donkey. but I bet you everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away in 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, everytime!

I love how my boys are so sweet to their little sister. Brother to brother there seems to be quite a bit of sibling rivalry, but with their sister—-nothing but love! Their little voices go up 2 octaves and they just want to be kissing her or holding her. Ah! It melts my heart…..now to find out how to get them to treat each other that way!
